Welcome to another beautiful week on this lovely blue planet we call home. I came across a powerful Native American prayer recently that feels like the perfect way to start off a week.

Sometimes, the first day after the weekend can feel heavy – this is a perfect time to call in some guidance and strength from above.

I invite you to join me in the words below, if they resonate with you:

Oh Great Spirit,
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
Hear me!  I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty,
and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things
you have made, and my ears sharp
to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brothers and sisters,
but to fight my greatest enemy – myself.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit may come to you without shame.

I’ve been burning some copal resin that a friend gave me, and today I’ll be saying the prayer above as I fan the smoke around myself, and bring it into each room of my home.

Wishing you seven days of clarity, peace, and service to others (as well as your highest ideals).

Stay curious,
Nick Polizzi
